Dr. Qais Farjo is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical treatment of the front portions of the eye. He attended medical school at the University of Michigan and completed Residency and a Fellowship at the same institution.
As an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan for five years he lectured and mentored many physicians at the University and in the community. He has published a number of book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to providing consultations on difficult corneal and anterior segment problems, Dr. Farjo performs refractive surgical procedures such as LASIK, PRK, LASEK, CK and INTACS.
Dr. Farjo is a member of numerous national, state and local professional societies including the Ohio State Medical Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, International Society of Refractive Surgery, Eye Bank Association of American, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is also certified in both the VISX and Technolas excimer lasers as well as the ReStor intraocular lens implant. He has had extensive experience with the Intralase laser, developed at the University of Michigan while he was there. He is currently an Associate Medical Director of the Midwest Eye Bank, which provides most of the corneal tissue for transplantation for the region.
Dr. Farjo and his wife, Rand, have three children. In his free time, Dr. Farjo enjoys traveling, playing with his children and playing pool.
